The concept of a Cabinet of Curiosities, or Wunderkammer, emerged during the Renaissance as a way of collecting and displaying objects that inspired wonder. Bringing together natural specimens, works of art, antiquities, and unusual artefacts, these collections reflected both a fascination with the world and the identity of the person who assembled them. They were also symbols of knowledge, status, and curiosity.

Cabinet of Curiosities reinterprets this historical idea through a contemporary and deeply personal lens. Rather than presenting objects as evidence of ownership or prestige, the exhibition brings together works that reflect the way memory, emotion, and experience accumulate over time. Abstract paintings, sculptures, photography, and found objects coexist as fragments of an ongoing artistic practice, each carrying its own history while contributing to a larger narrative.

As my first solo exhibition, Cabinet of Curiosities marked an important moment in my practice. It brought together works created across different periods and mediums, offering an opportunity to reflect on the ideas that continue to shape my work and on the relationships that exist between them.

The exhibition also featured works by Marita Setas Ferro and Toni Oswald.

Originally presented in Porto from 26 June to 1 August 2024, *Cabinet of Curiosities* invited visitors to step inside a space where objects, memories, and materials could be experienced not as fixed meanings, but as open invitations to wonder, question, and connect.
